How to Design a Document Professionally

Everyone wants their web page to be designed in a specific manner and they always want to stand out to the public the best that they can. Well there are so many different companies that are set up for other companies to buy a certain web page/layout. Well there are other alternatives to doing so if you don’t want to spend the high dollar amount in trying to come up with your own web design.

Don’t forget that what you have designed on your webpage you must also want to do when you are writing documents within the company. Just like a web page, a document needs all of the facts and layout to be comprehended the same way.

According to Chromatic.com the 12 steps to creating a webpage are:

  1. Multi-stage web design
    1. Conceptualizations and Planning
    2. Modeling
    3. Execution
  2. Project collaboration tools
  3. High quality design
  4. Attention to detail
  5. Current web design technology
  6. Well written, interesting, grammatically correct content
  7. Usability
  8. XHTML and CSS validation
  9. Standards-compliant
  10. Optimization
  11. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) friendly
  12. Abuse of Flash, JavaScript, and sound effects

These same things can be done when you are writing a paper. You always start out with an Introduction, have the Body, and then the Conclusion. What you need to have done within each section is a different story.

In the Intro you always want to grab the attention of your audience and you want to make sure that it’s very appealing to them or you will lose them right off the bat. You also want to do a small summary of what you will be covering throughout your document. That way when you get the body of your document the audience already has the idea of what will be covered throughout the document. Once you have covered everything that you need to have covered then you want to do a small recap of everything, just as a reminder and then you either want to relate back to the opener statements and draw up a conclusion.

This is very important because you want to draw your audience in just like you would if they were looking at an advertisement, by getting their attention quickly you will be more successful in your document and people will remember it.
